Kenya School of Frontier Missions (SOFM)

Description
The SOFM is an overview of and preparation for longer-term, cross-cultural missions to least-evangelized peoples. It has some specific skill training -- usually cross-cultural adjustment, culture and language learning -- during the initial three-month course that is developed further during the subsequent field assignment. Broadly, the SOFM covers the biblical and historical foundations for mission, intercultural communication, missions strategy, and personal and team relationships. The course may also address aspects of the worker’s personal relationship with God, interpersonal relationships, leadership and authority, team building and team dynamics, developing and relating with a prayer/financial support team. The SOFM focuses on unreached people groups among Muslims, Hindus, Tribals, Chinese, Buddhists and Tribals. It trains workers for living and ministering among unreached people groups with church planting as a key strategy in discipling new converts. YWAM's Discipleship Training School is a prerequisite. The SOFM has a two-year field assignment

This FM-DTS targets Chinese people in Taiwan and China.

The School of Frontier Media is being run for the first time in
beautiful Chiang Mai, Thailand.
We use all kinds of visual arts, media and technology, as well as
traditional and cultural expressions to make resources specifically
targeted for unreached peoples, such as mobilisation, evangelism and
church planting tools. Create International Thailand has a special
focus on peoples in China and Indochina.
The School of Frontier Media trains DTS graduates to use art and
media for missions. No prior media experience is needed: Experienced
media missionaries train students in all facets of cross-cultural
media production whether you are an experienced film producer or
just starting to learn various media tools.

School description: GURUKULAM Discispleship Training School (DTS) is a contextual Hindu Focused DTS run by SOFM/equivalency staff focused on specific Hindu people groups in South/East Asia & beyond. A Gurukulam is a place where a students comes to be instructed by a spiritual master teacher, a guru, in our case Jesus Christ! The school will be in English with Hindi translation. People who have a long term calling to Hindus and wish to join YWAM would benefit both internally and in their outward expression of faith in Jesus Christ among Hindus during the Gurukulam DTS.
